On June 23, a re-examination was conducted in multiple places throughout India for 1563 candidates who received grace marks as a result of disturbances during the NEET UG exam. Only 813 students (52%) showed up for the re-examination in spite of the Supreme Court’s order, and 750 students (48%) did not show up.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted a re-examination at several centers across Haryana, Gujarat, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, and Chandigarh. Here are the details:
- In Chandigarh, both scheduled students were absent for the exam.
- Two centers were set up in Chhattisgarh. At the first center, 70 out of 185 students did not appear for the exam. At the second center, 241 out of 417 students were absent.
- In Surat, Gujarat, where there was a re-exam, the student scheduled for it attended.
- In Haryana, 207 students did not take the exam.
- In Jhajjar district, Haryana, 287 students took the exam, while 207 did not.
- In Meghalaya, out of 464 scheduled students, 230 did not appear, and 234 students did take the exam.
